Dr Chan is
a Practice Professor of Action Learning since 25 years ago under the coaching and mentoring of
Professor Gordon Wills (now the Baron of Prestoungrange).
He started
receiving the original
Theory of Action Learning
(Reginald Revans)
as a student at the Cranfield
University (UK)
where Professor Gordon Wills was the Dean
of the School of Management. After graduating from Cranfield with an MSc in Precision
Engineering and Production Management, he applied action learning for problem solving as a
Project Manager with the
600 Group of Companies (British) for
3 years (1980-1983).
In
1984, he was engaged by Okuma Corporation (Japanese) as a
General Manager and applied Action Learning for Management of Innovation for 10
years.
In
1994, he joined Husky Injection Moulding Systems
(Canadian) and utilized Action Learning for Business and New Market Development across
Asia for 2 years.
In 1996,
he was head hunted by Nexus-Naga
Corporation (Malaysian) for Results-Driven Action Learning Leadership as a Chief
Operating Officer in charge of a USD 1.6 billion integrated resort project for 2
years.
In 1998,
he joined Sinar Mas Group
(Indonesian) as the Director of Innovation and Productivity to enhance entrepreneurial
spirit throughout the organisation using Action Learning Crisis Turnaround Leadership for 7
years.
During the
last 6 years (2005-2010),
Dr. Chan started his own
international management consultancy
enterprise known as Action Learning Plus to assist
companies in pain or crisis for turnaround using Action Learning Methodology pioneered by him
(including Management by Olympic System).
Dr. Chan
is both a Practice Professor and an International Management Consultant engage in coaching,
educating and consulting services across all industries integrating different facet of
management, leadership and entrepreneurship components for sustainable, scalable and successful
transformation of strategies into business results. He has taught across 25 countries and is recognised as one
of the authority in
Action Learning. In 2002, he won the Alan Mumford Prize for the Best Article in Action
Learning.
